Guardrail End Terminals:

The SKT-350 ( Sequential Kinking Terminal) is an energy absorbing tangent terminal. The SKT is NCHRP 350 Approved! During head-on impacts, the SKT impact head slides over the W-beam guardrail. The rail is sequentially kinked or bent as it moves through the head. The kinked guardrail exits the head safely and the vehicle is brought to a controlled stop. When impacted along the side within the length of need, the SKT functions like guardrail. The errant vehicle is safely redirected back toward it’s original travel path.

 |
The FLEAT 350 ( FLared Energy Absorbing Terminal) is an energy absorbing flared terminal. The flare is straight and the offset is variable anywhere between 2'-6" and 4'-0". The FLEAT is 37'-6" long and has 7 breakaway posts. NCHRP 350 APPROVED!
|
 |
The FLEAT-MT is a Median Terminal for use in wide medians. The components of the original FLEAT-350 flared terminal are combined with a couple of additional small components to create the FLEAT-MT.

WY-BET Box Beam Terminal
|
The BEAT and the BEAT-MT have many interchangeable components. The BEAT is designed to attach directly to the end of the standard 6” x 6” box beam barrier. The BEAT-MT is designed to attach directly to the end of the standard 6” x 8” box beam barrier. During end on impacts, the vehicle forces the impact head of the BEAT into the end of the box beam section causing the tube to burst. This allows the errant vehicle to be safely decelerated.
Box Beam Bursting Energy Absorbing Terminal Single Sided Crash Cushion
- Attaches directly to bridge rail abutments, rigid barrier ends and many bridge rails
- Low cost alternative to other crash cushion systems
- Ideal for restrictive site conditions with it’s short overall length of 28’-0”
- Major components: 6” x 6” box beam, 8 breakaway steel posts, cable assembly and rigid wall attachment
- Can be used in a permanent or temporary application
Road Systems, Inc. introduces a new solution to an old problem: directly shielding Bridge Piers from impact. The BEAT-BP is a revolutionary system that fills an application for which there are few options. It is both lower in cost and more effective than other crash cushion systems. It also solves the problem of grass mowing and maintenance operations in bullnose areas.
